So as soon as the SFA sacked George Burley, Chief Executive Gordon Smith revealed that the new Scotland manager, whoever he may be, would be able to call upon Kris Boyd, Allan McGregor and Barry Ferguson despite them shaming themselves, disrespecting the fans and the Dark blue jersey of Scotland. How this man could come out with this so soon after sacking Burley, a man who was shown no respect by these three misfits/fools, just typifies the men who are running the Scottish game.
Of course there will be some fans who will back the return of Boyd, possibly even Ferguson and McGregor, but the fact is despite our shocking bad performances under Burley, should we throw away our principles to call upon three players who showed disrespect towards the fans and shamed the hallowed dark blue jersey, that for the likes of Billy Bremner, Denis Law, Kenny Dalglish etc was an honourable and illustrious highlight of their careers.
Hamish Husband, spokesman for the West of Scotland Tartan Army, said on Wednesday that Scotland fans would be split over the return of the shamed pair, but claimed that Boyd was more likely to be welcomed back.
Husband said, “There are plenty of examples of players who have come back after being punished or turning their back on their country but I believe the return of Ferguson, McGregor and Boyd would split the Tartan Army. Some believe that two out of those three players are as good or better than anything we have got.
“They will look at our lack of goals and wonder why the second highest scorer in the history of the SPL doesn’t play for Scotland. Others, though, believe that players have one chance and if they have been punished or turn their back on Scotland, then that’s it for life. Any polls on the fans’ message boards would show that.”
Tam Ferry, East of Scotland Tartan Army co-ordinator said, “Most fans would like to see a proven goalscorer back but as far as the other two are concerned, the fans would be split. I’m not sure if they have apologised to the Scotland fans since so they have some making up to do. But if Boyd made himself available again then I’m sure the fans would welcome him back.”
I asked earlier on in this article, whether we should stick to our principles and never call upon the trio ever again for Scotland or should we fling them out just to have a midfielder who is past his best – in Ferguson – a goalkeeper who would just be an understudy to Craig Gordon – in McGregor – and a prolific striker who doesn’t even get a game for his club in Europe – in Boyd – or for the most part warms the bench in favour of Kenny Miller who hits more fans in the stands than the back of the net for both Rangers and Scotland.
So what should the new manager do? We want your views.

You may have asked the question at the start of your usual anti anything remotely associated with Rangers diatribe; but having called them “misfits” and “fools“, and pointing out that they disrespected the “hallowed dark blue jersey” kinda indicates that you’ve already made your mind up. Talk about impartiality!
I also take you to task over your less than complimentary assessment of the three players involved. To suggest that McGregor is little more than an understudy to Gordon is patent nonsense. Ferguson may be on the wrong side of thirty, but he’s head and shoulders above anybody else eligible to pull on the dark blue in midfield, that’s for sure. As for Boyd being a mere second to Miller, that just about sums up what you know about Rangers and football. Please do the reader the courtesy of researching your fact before presenting them.
As I said before, your infuriating lack of accuracy, and blinding hatred for Rangers, in most of your “reports” only serves to reinforce the notion amongst those of us still prepared to give this website hoose room, that you are indeed an incompetent, bigoted editor.
Anyway, back to your article. That Hamish husband (or that other clown, Alan Duncan) purport to represent the so called tartan army is ludicrous. They are lucky if they represent a few hundred fans between them, and they certainly don’t speak for me.
On the subject of players constantly bringing the jersey into disrepute, I don’t hear much condemnation of the chuckle brothers at center half! The biggest pair of numpties ever to pull on any football jersey, yet we still give them patronage in that national squad. Burley is a rank incompetent, and the single worst Scotland manager ever!

Well Archie how should we talk about the three players then? a striker who spat the dummy, and two players who acted like a couple of neds and twelve year olds by getting drunk, insulting the manager AND sticking the v-signs up at Hampden during the bench in an act of petulance??
and yes imo they disrespected the Scotland jersey with their antics and shamed themselves also. They thought about themselves rather than Scotland. They dishonoured the caps they were to get for those games and those they received previously.
And in regards to my inaccuracies you claim here are my answers – McGregor IS Gordon’s understudy at Scotland. If Gordon is fit and playing well then McGregor would not get a sniff of the Number One jersey. Ferguson is passed his best and in all honesty he showed nothing in his last couple of games for Scotland nor Rangers to warrant a place. As for Boyd, under Smith, how many games has he started for Rangers? Why does Boyd sit on the bench when Rangers play the big games against European competition etc. I don’t know much about Rangers nor Football and the research comment? Boyd is not a big game player – he is a luxury item and given that Kenny Miller has started more games for Rangers than Boyd has in the past few seasons – it is safe to say that they rely on Miller more for his play, which is evident when Boyd doesnt get a start against the likes of Kaunas, Unirea, Sevilla, Stuttgart etc. He may be a great goal scorer but why is he not first pick at Ibrox? Research that.
Oh as for the chuckle brothers – if you looked at our report on the Wales game then you would have read our comments on both defenders – but thats right you only read certain stories expecting to be upset. You fail to mention all the articles we have written in regards to Celtic – attacking the behaviour of fans, the lack of investment and the football on the pitch also. But again you are blind to these articles and only read specific ones that you want to get upset over.
Rather than attacking us for our obvious bigoted views – again where is the bigotry??? – why don’t you read through the WHOLE site rather than just the odd article now and again. And rather than attacking us for reporting on incidents involving Rangers or their fans – why don’t you condemn or criticise those who were involved in trouble or were poor on the field etc – rather than trying to deflect the issue by labelling ALL our opinions and comments as anti-rangers and bigoted.
Oh and for your information – whether the three players were from Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Hibs or Stranraer – we would still be of the same opinion labelling them misfits, fools and whatever else. If you are so upset with our view, why don’t you produce an article that favours the trio returning to the fold rather than just criticising and spouting out a few lines.
