In the Women’s Premier League, Glasgow City maintained their 100% record defeating Rangers’ Ladies side 5-1 at Petershill. Spartans beat Inverness 2-0 and Hibernian scored 5 past Boroughmuir. While there was something of a free for all in the game between Celtic Ladies and FC Kilmarnock, with Celtic running out emphatic winners 21-0!

Holland coach Bert van Marwijk has named his 22 man squad that will face Japan in a friendly on September 5th and four days later face Scotland in their final 2010 World Cup Group Nine qualifying match. Scotland have also announced their squad for the crucial ties against Holland and Macedonia.

Police have launched an investigation after an assistant referee was hit by an object thrown from the crowd at a football match.
