livingston1Livingston’s deluded Chairman Angelo Massone has been given 13 days to pay West Lothian’s £280,000 rent bill or Livingston will be put into administration. The local authority have confirmed that the Italian failed to met Tuesday’s midnight deadline for clearing the debt and as we reported earlier, have started legal proceedings.

Sheriff officers arrived at Almondvale yesterday to serve notice of the council’s decision to take the matter to the law courts.

The subject is due to be discussed at the Court of Session in Edinburgh later this month and a West Lothian council spokesperson said, “Several months ago we agreed a deadline of June 30 with the club’s owners. Unfortunately, the club’s owners have failed to satisfy the terms of this agreement and we have reluctantly started formal legal procedures. We have been flexible, patient and reasonable with regards to the club’s plight and have given the club’s owners ample opportunity to settle the outstanding issues.”

It’s believed an interim liquidator would be appointed in a fortnight’s time to assess the scale of Livingston’s financial plight.

"We have endured many attempts to close us down, sidestepped many tactics to sabotage our games, constant threats of Administration, but through our Passion, Unity and Pride we have taken these challenges head on and battled on with sheer determination & commitment to survive."

Meanwhile the Livingston FC official website is calling on all fans to unite to ‘Save Our Club’. Massone and Neil Rankine have invited all Livi fans and the community to the stadium, to help stave off administration. They are illing to discuss the problems at the club in a ‘democratic way,’ however everyone knows who the problem is – Massone. He has slowly but surely sold off all of Livingston’s assets and is now looking like the King on a weak throne, knowing that in a matter of days his time as ruler will be up and is ready for one desperate last stand that will give his followers a surge of belief, but will ultimately fail miserably.

They use plenty of propaganda rhetoric, such as ‘OUR Club, OUR Pride, OUR Future and OUR Duty‘ but the most deluded statement from the club via Massone’s lips, obviously, stated, “We have endured many attempts to close us down, sidestepped many tactics to sabotage our games, constant threats of Administration, but through our Passion, Unity and Pride we have taken these challenges head on and battled on with sheer determination & commitment to survive.” It looks as though Massone still thinks the club will survive under his rule – I don’t know who is more deluded – those fans still holding onto the idea tha Massone is the man to take the club forward and into the SPL or Massone for thinking that the club will be saved and still under his control?

Given that for so long Massone stated that there was no financial problems at the club and then when he did eventually declare troubles at the club, when he called on fans to donate to the club in a bid to stave off administration, those fans still loyal to him paid just a little under £150 – puts into perspective what the fans really think of him, the fans that have the best interests of the club at heart and are not blindly following Massone like ‘lambs to the slaughter’.

It is Time Massone goes before Livingston are consigned to the annuals of history, with the likes of Third Lanark and Gretna. Administration is the best bet for Livingston now, so that the club can get shot of one of the ‘most incompetent and deluded chairman’ in the Scottish game.
