celticIt looks as though Celtic have not gotten rid of defender Bobo Balde just yet, as he claims the Parkhead club owes him more than £200,000, and he has taken his case to the PFA Scotland.

The Guinean, who already has a case pending with FIFA over disciplinary sanctions imposed by Celtic, did not receive the final two months of his salary. Celtic insist this is because he was given an advance’ of £100,000 and owed fines of £100,000. Balde argues that the first sum was actually a bonus he was due and that the fines were unlawful.

Balde is ready to take the club to court if necessary, but Celtic are confident they have done nothing wrong. The Balde situation just gets bad to worse for Celtic.

Pay up celtc. I can’t wait to hear what he has to say about refusing to sign the confidentiality clause.

Rumours suggest it was to do with racist remarks directed at Balde by a high ranking celtc employee.

Strachan has stolen Bobo’s Thunder by resigning and anything
he says will only look like sour grapes!
It may put prospective employers off. It’s not easy getting
a job hasn’t he seen what the current climate is like!!

Can you corroborate this rumour Al or is it just the usual tripe you get on the fan forums? And what high ranking Celtic employee?

And given that Balde is no longer a Celtic employee and has signed no clause – why hasn’t he came out in the papers stating racist comments from Celtic employees? That would certainly be front page news wouldn’t it? Not to mention why he has failed to tell the PFA Scotland about such comments also.

If the racist comments were true, given Bobo values money over all else, am sure he would have sued. The club would have had to settle and then he could have claimed it was no longer possible to work there and they should pay off his contract as well.

    P’sh and wind Al.

He’s probably claiming bonuses which were based on what the team won whilst he wasn’t in the first team. Doesn’t surprise me. Have experienced a similar story where a salesperson working for me tried to get team commission whilst not actualkly working on the project…

Once again we are looking to the world like we are cheapskates. I’m sure there is no foundation to “bonus” claims from Bobo, but God knows there should have been!!! Had Strachan not traeted Bobo the way he did we would have been sitting on our fourth consecutive title, and the bonuses would have been legit!Bobo was only doing to his employers what they were doing to him, something each of us would have done in his situation. It wasn’t his fault Celtic gave him such a stupid contract. This is so typical of the cheap board of directors at Celtic. They are acting exactly the same way they did in January when they didn’t spend for a striker who would have had the league sewn up by March!Instead they gambvled and for the sake of one million quid lost upwards of 15 million, and doubled the loss by handing that 15 million to rangers instead.

Joe – Bobo was in the first team squad when we won nada – what makes you think (a four year older) bobo would have made any difference to our lack of goals in the run in? Or how would have made us win any more leagues prior to this last season?

New manager comes in, a player doesn’t fit in with new plans (remember WGS changed to 442 from MON’s preferred 352 – the 3 centre back formation covered bobo, he gets exposed as one of 2 CBs), the player gets sold moves on and life carries on.

I’ve changed jobs for less money because of disagreements with managers in the past and the knowledge that prospects were limited under that boss, so you are also incorrect in saying “each of us would do the same”.

Bobo chose to stay for money, not for the love of the game (or the club). His lucrative contract has now expired but he seems to still be trying to squeeze some more blood out of the goose that laid the golden egg… I find it pretty unedifying tbh.
