On the 20th November 2008 we announced a competition for readers of Scotzine.com to win a copy of the Brand New Football Manager 2009 game. Tonight we drew the winner out of the preverbial hat with 27 readers with the correct answer vying for the all important prize.
Only one person could win the prize and that was Peter Eckard (35), living in St. Andrews. Peter correctly answered that it was William Henry Gladstone who is the only sitting Member of Parliament to ever play in an England – Scotland match. Gladstone was the MP for Chester and Whitby and was the son of Prime Minister William Gladstone regarded as one of the greatest British Prime Ministers.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in the competition and when our next one is out we shall make it a wee bit easier for everyone after receiving a number of comments in regards to the way the competition was run. After this we will no longer ask for answers to a question – just for you to send your name, age, club you support and email addy to enter our competitions.
