Celtic have continued to keep tabs on £2.5 million Bosnian midfielder Semir Stilic according to media reports from down south. Parkhead scouts watched the 21 year old in action for Polish side Lech Poznan in their UEFA Cup match with SPanish side Deportivo La Coruna. Although Celtic look to be favourites if they pursue the midfielder, they have competition in the guise of West Brom who also had scouts at the game.

One sticking point is that any side in the UK vying to sign Stilic will be hampered by the Work Permit rulings, as he has not played the requisite number of international games in the past two seasons – although Man United are set to sign a Serbian who has only played once for the National side. If Celtic can prove that Stilic will play regularly at International level then it is possible for the switch. In the mean time Celtic will continue to watch the player as they assess potential targets ahead of the Transfer Window in January opening.

Do Celtic need another midfielder? Would he be one for the future given that Paul Hartley and Shunsuke Nakamura are at the wrong end of their Celtic career’s? Woudl the money be better spent on another department in the side? Or would he be a timely addition for Strachan’s side on their run for a Fourth successive SPL title?
